[The electron microscopical study on the effect of mouth rinses of chlorhexidine on the development of dental plaque in man (author's transl)].

This study has been done to investigate the effect of mouth rinses of chlorhexidine on the development of dental plaque in man. Twenty patients participated in this study (from nineteen years old to twenty-six years old. Ten male and ten female). On the lingual surfaces of mandibular anterior teeth , triacetylcellulose film was tight with 4-0 silk suture. On the experimental group, L-S solution of chlorhexidinedigluconate and Lactic Aluminium was used , and take off after 2 hours, 4 hours and 24 hours. In control group, placebo solution was used, and take off after 2 hours , 4 hours and 24 hours. Linguo-cervical films divided into two parts (one part for the use of SEM materials and the other part for the use of TEM materials). In a scanning electron microscopic study, the mouth rinses of chlorhexidine resulted in a relative decreased in dental plaque formation compared to the control (placebo) rinses .
